Teddy's Bigger Burgers + Break.

There's nothing more American than a good old fashioned burger. If you're on O'ahu, Teddy's Bigger Burgers couldn't be a better place to go. I think the only other place to give chase would be Kua 'Aina Burgers. But anyways, the burgers, made out of 100% ground chuck, are grilled to absolute perfection. Each bite more juicy than the last. And I personally believe that all real burgers must have real toppings: Cheese, Ketchup, Mayo, Red Onions, Lettuce, and Tomatoes. With a side of their fresh cut fries, and a coke.

I was on the Big Island for a month. It's really great there. I'd have to say that one of my perfect days was at the beach enjoying trail mix from the local organic foods store, with a beer, and my cowboy killers. (Any day away from my bitch of an aunt was great, actually) More fotos to come from my little break.

CURRENTLY In love with my new surroundings.

CHANGE As you can see I went with the vice and changed my blog name to The Asian American. The whole French thing seemed too Generic seeing as how everyone's doing it, especially the non-French.

Growing up in Hawaii had it's advantages, it's the definition of America's supposed "melting-pot" There's a ton of people from all over the world sharing different cultures constantly, and it's a norm since Hawaii is one of "those places." ( You know....it's one those places deemed "exotic-eccentric-etc." by everyone else except for the people born & raised. ) Growing up in this environment has made me open to the world, to try new things, it made me curious. I know about places, special places on the island that aren't listed on any tourist brochure.
But it also had its downsides. The island is extremely small, I mean it'd probably take you about a year or so to do every activity exclusive to HI you possibly could. It's not entirely the beautiful paradise the propaganda portrays it to be. A good majority of the people in Hawaii are dellusional; somehow they think that they're getting somewhere with their lives and becoming someone by repeating "cool habits" by enforcing the use of social lubricants, because of the last statement alot of people there are obnoxious and snobby, people tend to drag you down in this place. The education system is atrotious, enough said.
Why am I in love with Illinois? It's got the four seasons. I mean no matter where I move, if it's got seasonal changes then that's a plus. The people are so chill, and friendly here. Everyone smiles, and it's genuine, it's not just workers at stores it's also people just passing by in the supermarket. The town I live in, especially the neighborhood looks like it belongs in an ABC Family special and that makes me laugh a little inside everytime I go driving someplace. I wasn't aware of what a magical place Target was until I moved here, haha.

I've been doing lots of living since my last update. So I'm thinking of spicing up the theme of this blog too. Instead of doing just fashion updates, I'll be doing everything from innovative tech ideas to eco-frindly handbags. I've still yet to get another camera battery for my Canon400D so I've dealt with a bunch of disposable film cameras and a scanner. The money I've had to dish out to develop them....Oh and did I mention it's because my Sony Cybershot AND iPhone got stolen, I swear I have the shittiest of luck.
Anyways, I've been doing my research and I'm really into urban homesteading now. I'm really going to get into the habit by March. I'm also gonna go shopping in Chicago next weekend I believe, so expect posts.

I haven't been on in AGES! I've recently moved to Peoria, IL so I'm just trying to adjust myself to the weather and settle in. Lots has been going on, just bear with me. I'll be posting again within the next week. I was also thinking I'm probably gonna have to change the site name, seeing as how I don't live in Hawaii anymore. I'm thinking something French or "The Asian American."

Okay so certain place like Macy's, Nordstrom, and ALDO were a bit misleading about their so-called "great deals." It was a bit disappointing. The lines and people @ Aeropostale & Forever 21 were just too fucking ridiculous so I just said fuck it. Didn't get as much clothes as I wanted, but today is cyber monday so I think I'll manage.

Started off the day @ around 11PM and headed down to Ala Moana Shopping Center to go wait in the Disney Store line. It was a helluva long line, but the wait wasn't too bad. It was really cute; they had an employee going down the line with a roll of stickers & a stack of Disney Trivia questions. A friend of mine, and I answered a question correctly and we both received a sticker. I ended up purchasing this 24" Anastasia plush from The Aristocats. The original price of the doll was $40, but I got it for $16.<3333

After that we headed down to Victoria's Secret/ Victoria's Secret PINK to be one of the first in line, this was at 1AM. The store didn't open till 6AM, but it was totally worth the wait. It felt great being in the first group to go inside the store. Then again there was alot of bullshit we had to put up with. Tons of people tried to cut in front of us, and I swear I was ready to get physical with a bitch because there is no way that I'd let someone cut after waiting forever and I wasn't the only one. I didn't even buy myself any underwear this time around, just for my friends. I was pretty happy though because I got the last XS for my leggings.

Went back to the mall the day after and grabbed what I really wanted from Forever 21, this Rhinestone Pyramid ring.
Ouuu, and I got something along the lines of that belt I wanted from Express. :)

I don't know about all of you HI, but I am totally stoked for Black Friday.
For those of you that are complete shut-ins:
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when major retailers around the country discount products to help kick off the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday ads are usually kept secret until you receive the circulars in your Thanksgiving Day newspaper.
I've been going around the mall, and looking around alot lately though so I'm going to post a list of specials for my fellow shoppers in HI.

Disney Stores will open at Midnight Thanksgiving night to kick off Black Friday shopping; From opening until 10AM, shoppers can take 20% off all items, including already discounted merchandise.
NORDSTROM unfortunately only has a deal on beauty products, and 50% off select denims. But you can save up to 70% off when shopping online that day.

I went "thrift-ing" on Sunday, made a stop at the Goodwill. I haven't been there in years because I've been too busy buying the expensive crap. I got turned off of it and decided it was time for a change, so to speak. Because I went to Express yesterday and spent about $300 or so, haha.

CURRENTLY: Facebooking it up!

Halloween was great for the most part despite a few mishaps. I had a healthy amount of nicotine and partying in my system. I'm sorry, but I only took pictures with my fone because my camera died which was a bit frustrating in the beginning of the nite because I know for a fact that I charged it all nite. And of all places I take it in the lobby bathroom of one the hotels in Waikiki one of my friends was having a party at. I didn't even bother with the feather, I left the pearls, and my feet hurt except for when I started to join in on the inebriation.

I'm sorry, but I'll have to do the outfit posts I've been procrastinating on some other time. Also I did my nails, but that's a surprise till next post. :)

Flashback Halloween.

So my Halloween costume arrived last week. I'm going to be a 1920's Flapper. I hate that about Halloween costumes, they never look like how they appear in pictures. First of all the headband that came with the outfit had a feather on it, it looks really big in the picture but irl it looks no bigger than three inches or so. Secondly the dress didn't have nearly as much fringe as I was expecting either.
But anyways, I guess I'm happy with the costume, so to speak. I picked up some vibrant red lipstick & thick falsies yesterday to pull the whole look together. Oh and I'll probably stop by Ben Franklin's to replace the dinky little feather on my headband & to purchase some beaded pearls because they sell them by the foot there.

American Apparel , Crepe Harajuku, & Le Patissier.

So I went back to American Apparel last week, and picked up a couple more dresses. The Cotton Spandex Jersey Too-Short Tube Dress in Nude, to be exact. :P And another Le Sac dress, this time in gray. The following is a picture of me, and not a very flattering one at that.

I've been avoiding sugar for the longest time ever, but I just couldn't help myself yesterday. I got a commission to make new advertisements, menus, and what not for Crepe Harajuku (located on the second floor of Shirokiya @ Ala Moana Shopping Center.) it's a Japanese style mini Crepe shop, and let me just say that they make the best crepes around. The creme they use is a personal recipe, and it's not overbearing at all so that it compliments all the fruits and other things you may want to add to your crepe. The owner of the crepe shop wants to do this teen(13-19) special thing where you get 10% off with a valid ID every friday night, so once I make the coupons for her I'll let you guys know!

The holidays are coming around the corner, and as you all know along with gift giving it also means that there are lots of delicious foods to look forward to that put on alot of weight, but instead of giving your friends something loaded in carbs and trans-fats I found out about these really nifty Japanese gifts as an alternate solution, they're made by a company called Le Pattisier.

CURRENTLY just living it up at the moment because I'm trying not to worry about the SAT's, which is exactly seven days away. -o-;; I'm really nervous, I hope I don't freeze up during the test.

This Winter HI will be getting it's first ever 7 for all mankind store! I am so totally stoked. I went back to the store which was carrying the Qee I mentioned in the last post, and they no longer have it in mint condition. They have taken it out of the box and put it on the shelf for display for some odd reason which is slightly upsetting to say the least, but they are currently the only store that I am aware of with the large version Qee. I should probably hit up Urbanz Toys, but the only thing is that I don't know if they're still around or not.

I made a jewelry box out of it, I don't think I'll be keeping it as a Jewelry box though, I failed to get a flat bottom for it. American Apparel & Victoria's Secret + A Personal Review.

I've completely failed to post anything in this blog really, but that's about to change. And I apologize because this is a bit of a late post, once again. So for the longest time ever I've had to do alot of online shopping, but recently Hawaii has opened up an American Apparel & Victoria's Secret/ PINK. We also have a Lego store here too now, but I'm saving that for my next post. There's another store that opened up in the mall that sells Vinyl Toys too. They have a large 3 footer Qee, DIY White BuneeQ for sale there, and I think that I'm going to buy it. Everything just depends on if they still have it or not by the end of this week.

American Apparel opened up in Ala Moana, and Waikiki in around January and May I believe. Best known for their domestic "sweatshop free" manufacturing, founded in 1998, you can find their headquarters in LA. I just recently paid my fourth visit to the store and picked up a Le Sac Dress in Aqua & Black, along with a new Nylon Tricot Triangle Bikini Top in Teal, and their Shiny Hot Short in Lamé Gold. I absolutely love the Le Sac dress because it's so functional, and there's a variety of ways to wear it.

Victoria's Secret & Victoria's Secret PINK just opened up on the first of this month.- We apparently have their largest branch, in the world. It's absolutely ridiculous there! There's a line you have to wait in to get into the store, and they even have security. I digress, as hectic as it may have have been (and it's still like that) I had the pleasure of visiting the store myself, accompanied by my mum. We spent well over a grand there. A list of the items we procured: Undergarments, Clothing, Parfume, Body Washes, Lotions, etc.

I've also got a new fone. The new iPhone 3GS 16GB to be exact. I think the fone is alot of hype, but it's still good nonetheless. This new generation of iPhone has a larger battery pack for longer usage, so it's bit thicker. The fone glitches from time to time, but the great thing is that if your fone starts to crap out on you, you can just go back to AT&T and exchange it for a new one, no fone insurance required. I mean this doesn't really matter, but it made me a bit sad when I noticed that the iPhone doesn't have a hole for any charms- I absolutely adore keitai. Also, they LIED about having an app for everything, they almost do though, almost......Lol.
